Organizational Schema

< The Organizational Schema >

The organizational schema is a tool I introduced in Mastering Organizational Architecture intended to help executives and organizational designers/architects to systematically map key forces and dynamics across the structural layers of their organizations. In consulting, after I developed such a visual model for clients from interviews with executives, it was often the first time these executives could actually see how their organization actually worked as a system.

Note:  The schemas shown here were developed in 2007, so many things have changed since then, but the value of the concept hasn't.
