Envisioning Business

< Envisioning Business >

Aside from perhaps a few financial graphs, organizational charts, and 2x2 models, most business books and articles have little or no visual content. Is it possible that business professionals, for some reason, aren't willing or able to think visually, or because business authors, professors, and publishers, for some reason, aren't willing or able to provide it?

Engineers, scientists, doctors, architects, interior designers, artists, and virtually all children are willing and able to understand and create visual content as shown to the right. Most business professionals read maps, build Lego buildings with their children and grandchildren, understand football formations, and read blueprints when putting additions on their homes or remodeling their kitchens.

In my experience, virtually all managers and other professionals are perfectly capable of thinking visually about their organizations and businesses -- when provided with suitable tools, methods, and training.
